Entertainment, followed by formal education in product development at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM). These experiences honed her design sensibilities and ignited her entrepreneurial spirit.


The inception of Beach Riot was inspired by Nicole's desire to create swimwear that resonated with her own style—pieces that were both fashion-forward and functional. The brand's name, a playful twist on her surname "Hanriot," emerged from frequent mispronunciations, leading to the distinctive and memorable "Beach Riot." 


Evolution and Expansion

Initially focusing on swimwear, Beach Riot quickly garnered a loyal following for its distinctive designs that encapsulated the carefree spirit of beach life while embracing urban sophistication. Recognizing a gap in the market for statement-making activewear, Nicole expanded the brand's offerings in 2017 with the launch of Sport Riot. This line mirrors the brand's signature aesthetic, featuring lively colors and prints, catering to the modern woman who seeks both style and performance in her fitness apparel.


Further diversifying its portfolio, Beach Riot introduced the Mommy + Mini collection, drawing inspiration from Nicole's own journey into motherhood. This line offers coordinated outfits for mothers and their children, emphasizing the brand's commitment to inclusivity and family-oriented fashion.
